I visited Takeo province a few Saturdays ago with my friend Lor Chandara, a Cambodian reporter with whom I work (more on the reasons for that trip soon). We visited his home village and motorbiked out to the small paddy he owns - which is maintained by his mother. I confess I was shocked by this, as she is 60 and has worked the land for far too many years. She is one of the small figures transplanting rice in the middle background.
I swear this photo was not staged. Sometimes a picture poses itself, I guess.
